Lee DeWyze refused to present 'American Idol' trophy to Scotty McCreery?

Lee DeWyze refused to present 'American Idol' trophy to Scotty McCreery? - "American Idol" fans who tuned into the Season 10 finale on Wednesday, May 25, were a bit surprised to see last season's winner Lee DeWyze sitting in the fifth row. In fact, DeWyze didn't even receive an on-camera mention from Ryan Seacrest. (Cory, the show's emcee who keeps the crowd energized during the commercial breaks, did tell the crowd DeWyze was in attendance.)
Could DeWyze's fifth row seating and snub be punishment from executive producer Nigel Lythgoe for refusing to take part in Scotty McCreery's coronation? Or is Lythgoe trying to find an explanation for DeWyze's finale absence?

On May 26, Lythgoe tweeted, "I was so upset Lee DeWyze wouldn't present the winners trophy to Scotty. Especially as he's been on the show this Season. I guess he was shy." Jennifer Lopez presented the trophy to Scotty instead.

A tweet from a DeWyze fan, saying, "You may not give a rats *ss about Lee but viewers do!! Suck on your ratings loss *sswipe!!!," prompted Lythgoe's tweet about the Season 9 winner. On May 23, DeWyze tweeted that he wasn't asked to perform at the finale.

Do you think Lythgoe's tweet was uncalled for or do you think DeWyze should have presented Scotty with the winner's trophy? Sound off in the comments.

Day after 19-inning marathon, Lee, Phillies have too much for Reds 10-4

Day after 19-inning marathon, Lee, Phillies have too much for Reds 10-4 - PHILADELPHIA — Cliff Lee drove in three runs and worked eight effective innings, leading the Philadelphia Phillies to a 10-4 win over the Cincinnati Reds on Thursday afternoon.

Raul Ibanez hit a three-run homer for the Phillies, who took three of four from the Reds.

Both teams were playing with little rest following Wednesday's 19-inning marathon ended at 1:19 a.m., after 6 hours, 11 minutes and 600 total pitches.

Every Phillie had at least one hit on Thursday, including Chase Utley, who is 2 for 14 since returning from the disabled list earlier this week.

The Phillies' offence gave Lee a 1-0 lead in the first inning when Ryan Howard doubled in Michael Martinez with two outs.

Howard was intentionally walked in the fourth inning with two outs and a runner on second, but Ibanez hit an 0-2 pitch for a home run. Ibanez is batting .361 (30 for 83) since snapping an 0-for-35 skid.

The Reds cut it to 4-2 in the fourth on Paul Janish's two-run single that scored Miguel Cairo and Jay Bruce.

Bruce tied the game with a two-run homer to right in the sixth inning. The shot was his National League-leading 14th of the season. Bruce has batted .486 with six homers and 14 RBIs during an eight-game hitting streak.

Reds starter Homer Bailey allowed four runs and five hits and a walk in four innings, and left the game with right shoulder spasms suffered during a fourth-inning at-bat.

Lee (4-4) threw 114 pitches in eight innings. But his biggest contributions came at the plate.

The Phillies loaded the bases with no outs in the sixth inning against Daryl Thompson (0-1), who had made his major league debut an inning earlier.Day after 19-inning marathon, Lee, Phillies have too much for Reds 10-4

Marc Anthony with Sheila E and Jennifer Lopez, then Tom Jones

Marc Anthony with Sheila E and Jennifer Lopez, then Tom Jones - Ryan Seacrest brings back Joe Repka, the would-be radio announcer, who takes us through a series of the season's worst auditions.

Marc Anthony with Sheila E and Jennifer Lopez, then Tom Jones - After that, Marc Anthony, who has played a big behind-the-scenes role all season, gets his moment on the stage. That's Sheila E playing percussion with him. And that's Jennifer Lopez in the white fringe-y outfit dancing around and trying to distract him while he's singing.

Next, we get wrestler-style rants from Casey Abrams and James Durbin about whose elimination was the more shocking. Pia Toscano helps them settle that argument.

While the girls got a Beyonce medley, the guys get one consisting of Tom Jones: Kiss, She's a Lady. And, of course, we've all wanted to hear James Durbin sing What's New, Pussycat? It's a hot mess, but not as messy as Scotty McCreery's rendition of Green, Green Grass of Home.
